Help Collect Donations

Volunteers make the difference!

Without your help, we will not be able to run a successful event and raise the funds needed to support our school. (Curious to know how the Cambridgeport PTO uses the funds raised? Read all about it here.)

This year, our goal is to raise $15,000 at the 2016 Silent Auction.

There are many ways to help and we’ve outlined a few {easy} opportunities below.  There are plenty of tasks that can be done from the comfort of your home (like making phone calls or submitting requests online), whenever you find the free time.

VOLUNTEER:

  • SET UP:  Help decorate, arrange and organize auction items the night before the event (on Friday, May 6th)
  • STAFFING SUPPORT:  Help the event run smoothly!  We need help staffing auction and food tables throughout the evening. With enough support, we can each take small shifts to ensure everyone has the chance to enjoy the party and bid on some awesome auction items!
  • SPREAD THE WORD: Everyone is welcome, family and friends!  The more that attend, the greater the success.

DONATE ITEMS:

  • Do you have something to donate or relationships with local vendors? Perhaps a favorite coffee shop or restaurant?
  • Have a special talent to offer as an item? Last year many of the donations provided by parents included handcrafted items, art prints and portrait sessions.
  • Do you have a secret stash of unused gift cards at home that you may not use?
HELP SOLICIT DONATIONS:
We have a list of vendors who have donated in the past, and are most likely to donate again, but need help with outreach. Most places are happy to donate an item to support their community + local public schools (with the added bonus of being eligible to receive a tax deduction!).

Simply download the Donation Ask Kit, which includes the Cambridgeport Donation Request form, along with an intake form (that the company completes if they are feeling generous and make a donation). FEED THE PEOPLE:

Do you have relationships with any companies that would be willing to make a donation or help provide food for this event? We’ve got lots of people to feed. 😀
